Perinatal Mental Health Counseling is a specific type of counseling for those who are wanting to conceive, struggling through pregnancy, or finding it difficult to manage in postpartum. Most Perinatal Mental Health Counselors have specific training that helps them better understand the many factors and unique stressors that contribute to Perinatal Anxiety, Depression, OCD, and PTSD, to name a few.
Perinatal Mental Health Counseling is therapy that focuses on your reproductive journey, whatever path that may take. The term “Perinatal” means anything from the time of conception through til the first year or two Postpartum.

I am here to support you, and meet you where you are. I specialize in Perinatal Mental Health, but I often find that we end up exploring so much more. Life, love, relationships with self and others - it’s all on the table. I promise to find the growing edge - where we can lean into the unknown, and honor your comfort level at the same time.
Common areas of focus include infertility, pregnancy, birth trauma, and the Fourth Trimester, or the early postpartum days, as well as new parenthood and stepping into your identity as a mother. -
Within the first few sessions, you can expect to begin to establish goals and a general “roadmap” for where we will likely travel on the journey to a better understanding of self.
I am a supportive, warm, and genuine presence that strikes the balance between validation of struggles and gently challenging harmful patterns that are holding you back. I do not shy away from your worst moments, days, thoughts, or feelings. I believe that you have the power within you to make it through this, and I am honored to be alongside you while you find your “new normal.”

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate with a degree in Couples and Family Counseling.
I have been awarded a PMH-C, or Perinatal Mental Health Certification, through Postpartum Support International. In order to obtain this certification you must complete extensive advanced training in Maternal Mental Health, have at least 2 years of experience working with perinatal clients, and are required to maintain regular continuing education. I am versed in Perinatal Mental Health, Perinatal Grief and Loss, Perinatal OCD, Perinatal Birth Trauma, and more.
Prior to my graduate education, I was working as a social worker providing in-home services to mothers and children through the Family Empowerment Program.
I have additional experience working with children doing Play Therapy, individuals experiencing Interpersonal Violence, those experiencing acute grief and loss, including caregiver fatigue, and more.
I facilitate weekly groups through The Mom League of Greensboro, have provided trainings to NICU families and staff through The Family Support Network of Central Carolina, and am a guest speaker through Cone Health’s Baby and Me program for new mothers. I also provide trainings and help to facilitate various Mother and Baby groups throughout the Triad.
In total, I have 10+ years of experience working with mothers and families. I am passionate about Perinatal, Prenatal, and Postpartum mental health, and wellness for all. I believe everyone deserves to feel held, seen, and cared for at their most vulnerable moments, including you.

Sessions are 50 minutes in length and typically occur once a week, or once every other week. Our first session, or Intake session, will be 90 minutes in length. This is where we get to know one another, establish goals, and gain a better understanding of what brought you in to therapy in the first place.
Generally speaking, you can expect to have at least 10-12 sessions, with many clients choosing to engage in a longer term therapeutic relationship. Ultimately, the commitment is up to you, and I will always honor your decisions about what makes the most sense for you.

Yes, I am able to work with couples. I approach couples counseling with an Emotion Focused Therapy lens, helping you to get at the root of your disconnect and heal from the inside out.
At times, I may also have a partner come in for 1 or 2 sessions during our individual therapy work, if so desired. This can give a more robust clinical picture of how I can best support your family unit. -
I am out of network with all health insurance providers. This allows flexibility in our work together and does not require that I provide a mental health diagnosis.
Individual Counseling Sessions are $200 per 90 minute clinical intake (our first session) & $150 per 50 minute session thereafter.
Forms of payment accepted include cash, check, or credit/debit card. All payments are due at the time of service.
