Modalities

First and foremost, I see you as a human being who needs support, and has bravely decided to reach out.

We will work together to establish what works best for you, and I will bring my authentic self, years of expertise, and passion for supporting clients like you into every session.

I operate from a Cognitive Behavioral, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused, and Person-Centered counseling perspective. I engage with clients using an eclectic blend of evidence-based therapies and modalities, striving to meet the individual where they are.

What this means for you is that I show up in the therapeutic space as a warm, compassionate, and steady presence that isn’t afraid of the hard stuff. My clients feel heard, cared for, and unconditionally accepted. I am not afraid to ask you to consider new perspectives, or look at things through a different lens that may not have been immediately in focus.

You will often hear me consider a client’s whole context and lifeline by “zooming out” to see how where we came from informs where we are and how we view the world. I focus on how our early attachments influence, but don’t control, our current perspective. I will challenge you to provide radical self compassion for all the parts of you that show up in the counseling space, and in your everyday life. We will also find coping tools and resources that work for you that create breathing room when things feel too heavy.

Depending on what is most clinically appropriate and relevant, we may utilize EMDR, creative arts therapies, or somatic awareness.
